PEI has grown from five people based in a small London office at the time of its first MBO in 2001 to employing more than 150 staff in three regional offices in Hong Kong, London and New York. We take pride in having a wide diversity of nationalities making up our team and are an equal opportunities employer.

  • Philip Borel
    Editorial Director
    "The asset classes PEI covers are amongst the most dynamic in the world, and we work hard to be as connected with them as possible so that we can deliver what our readers want."

    Philip was part of the team involved in the MBO in 2001 from Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC. He has led the company’s global team of journalists ever since. Born and raised in Germany, Philip has lived in Britain since 1993. He’s a graduate of the University of York and the London School of Economics.

  • Jonathan Brasse

    Jonathan joined the PEI team in 2009 from a UK-focused commercial property magazine to lead PERE’s coverage of the Asian markets. He became editor of the PERE website in 2012 and was appointed Senior Editor, Real Estate in 2015. Jonathan is an NCTJ-qualified journalist and holds a bachelors degree with honours from the University of Kent.

    Colm joined PEI in 2004 as a journalist, moved to the Conferences division in 2005 becoming its head in 2008 and was appointed Managing Director [Americas] in 2015. Colm holds an LLB from the Queen’s University of Belfast, an MA in journalism from the University of Westminster and a Certificat d’Etudes Politiques from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Bordeaux.

    Dan joined PEI in 2010 to lead and develop the company's research and analytics services for the private equity, private real estate, private debt and infrastructure markets. A graduate of the University of Bristol, he previously worked at EMAP as Operations Director of its political information and data service.

    David’s first job was at Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC. He left in 1995 to start digital financial media business InvestorAccess with Richard O’Donohoe, which they sold to Euromoney in 1999. They then led the MBO from Euromoney in 2001 of a portfolio of digital assets that created PEI . After steering a secondary buyout from their investors in 2007 and helping grow the business across products, geographies and asset classes, he became a non-executive director of PEI in 2015. He is an English graduate from Balliol College, Oxford.

  • Amanda Janis

    Amanda joined PEI’s New York office as a journalist in 2007, having previously worked as the business editor for a daily newspaper in the San Francisco Bay Area. She relocated to PEI’s London office in 2008 became Director of PEI's specialist networks division in 2013 and was appointed Group Managing Editor in 2015. Amanda has an MA in international journalism from City University of London and bachelor’s degrees in English literature and Italian studies from Saint Mary’s College of California.

  • Tim Trotter

    Tim became Non-Executive Chairman of PEI in 2015. He is Chairman of advisory business Glenfern and holds a number of Non-Executive Chairman positions at blue-chip companies. Prior to Glenfern, he founded Ludgate Group, an international public relations and investor relations company. Tim implemented the sale of Ludgate to Interpublic and became Deputy Chairman of its global public relations division, now Weber Shandwick. Tim also co-founded both Citywire, the news service for the global asset management industry and Bluefin, the financial services business.

  • Paul McLean

    Paul is Publishing Director for the group having joined PEI in 2006 as Sales and Marketing Director. He has over 20 years sales, marketing and commercial experience gained at Thomson Financial, Financial News and FTSE. He is a graduate of AUT, Auckland, New Zealand.

  • Tim McLoughlin

    Tim joined PEI in 2008 as Group Managing Director after group directorship of Emap’s B2B Media assets and previous roles in consumer markets for DMGT. He became Chief Executive of PEI in 2015 having led the MBO from the company’s co-founders that year. A graduate of Newcastle Polytechnic’s Applied Chemistry faculty he also holds a master's-level Diploma in Business Publishing.

  • Richard O’Donohoe

    Richard began his career in banking before joining Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC in 1987. He left in 1995 to start InvestorAccess, a digital financial publishing business, with David Hawkins, which they sold to Euromoney in 1999. In 2001 David and Richard led the MBO from Euromoney of a portfolio of digital assets that created PEI. After completing a secondary buyout in 2007 and having helped grow the business from a start up to a business with 150 people, he became a non-executive director of PEI in 2015. He is a Political Science graduate from Trinity College, Dublin.

    Joss joined PEI in 2010 and oversees the subscription sales teams in London, New York and Hong Kong. He has over 10 years business information sales experience across a range of sectors and holds a Master's degree.

    Jonathan joined PEI in 2010, bringing with him 17 years’ agency and clientside marketing experience from a diverse array of industries and businesses including Telstra, News International, ChildLine and Kaplan. He is a graduate of the University of New South Wales and has a professional diploma from the Institute of Direct Marketing (UK).

    Chris joined PEI as Managing Director for Asia in 2011. From 2000 to 2006, he ran the Alternative Investment Group at SRI then relocated to Hong Kong to build the conference division at Haymarket Media. Chris has a BSBA in Marketing from the University of Arizona as well as an MA in International Political Economy from the Claremont Graduate School in California.

    Alistair joined PEI in 2002 to head up advertising and sponsorship sales, having previously worked on publications at the Economist Group and Thomson Financial. He’s a graduate of Leeds Metropolitan University where he read European Languages and International Business.

    Seth joined in May 2016. Prior to PEI, he was the managing director of the American Conference Institute where he ran a $20 million conference business. He has over 20 years of experience in managing content and events with prior roles at the Economist, Access Intelligence, Reputation Institute and IQPC where he produced events in more than 25 countries. He holds a Master’s degree in Marketing Communications from Emerson College.

    Marine joined the PEI team in 2015 and became Americas Editor for private equity in 2016. She has been covering finance and business for more than a decade for publications including The Wall Street Journal, Crain’s New York Business, AdvertisingAge and Pensions & Investments. She also previously worked for Dow Jones Newswires and holds a master’s in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.

    Kashmir joined PEI in 2016 as CFO after successfully guiding a private equity-backed publishing business through a trade sale. He has extensive experience in CFO and corporate development roles in a number of global media businesses. Kashmir is a Chartered Accountant and has an MBA from London Business School.

    Tony joined PEI as its first CTIO in July 2016. He came on board following a five-year spell at Euromoney Institutional Investor, where he managed the technology portfolio and guided their digital transformation programme. With nearly 20 years' experience in digital media, and stints at multi-channel publishers Emap and Bauer Media, Tony is a key addition to the PEI management team.

    Arleen joined PEI in 2003 to build the conference portfolio run out of the New York office. Prior to PEI, she produced finance and investment conferences for the Economist, World Congress, VNU and in particular Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC. She has a BA cum laude in English Literature from Barnard College of Columbia University.

    Helen joined PEI in 2014 to help launch and run the Family Office Series of forums in Asia and Europe, leveraging our alternative asset expertise for the benefit of this elusive but very significant segment of the investment community.  A graduate in Law and Business, Helen has worked in events for most of her career, first in London and now in PEI’s Hong Kong office.

    Arshiya joined the PEI team as PERE’s Asia reporter in 2014. Her stories on business and political news in the region have been published on Quartz, CNN and Lloyd’s List. Before moving to Hong Kong, Arshiya was a business correspondent covering consumer companies and advertising for a New Delhi-based trade publication. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from The University of Hong Kong.

  • Iris Mui

    "The logistics team is in charge of making the overall conference experience for delegates as smooth as possible - before, during and after the event. And as we grow the conference portfolio across the Asian markets, so my job is to deal with the challenges in organization and support for both my colleagues and our clients for all our events."

    Iris joined PEI in 2012 as Logistics Manager, and is responsible for all the logistic details of conferences and training courses in Asia. Iris began her career in event management with Haymarket Media in Hong Kong, where she worked on financial conferences, award shows and multi-day festivals across the APAC region. In addition to her native Cantonese, Iris also speaks fluent English and Mandarin.

    Evelyn joined PEI in 2011 as a reporter focusing on the Americas for PERE. She became senior reporter in 2014 and was appointed news editor in 2015. She now oversees PERE's news coverage globally across its digital and print publications. She holds bachelor degrees in English and Spanish from Rutgers University.

    Wanching joined PEI in 2007 in the editorial group before becoming part of the specialist publications team in 2009. She previously covered Asian banking markets in Singapore. Wanching has a BA from Smith College and MA from the School of Oriental and African Studies.

    Charles joined PEI in January 2011. He graduated from Hofstra University in 2003 with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Communications with a focus in Marketing, then joined Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate, before being recruited by Fox Group to lead a property sales team covering the New York metropolitan area. He was promoted to a senior business development role in PEI's events business in 2014.
